Staging a musical is no easy task, with a huge input needed from so many corners...from Front of House to preparing the hall, publicity to costumes, make-up,lighting, sound and even parking... it all takes a gargantuan effort. However, the audience come to see what is up on stage, and so with that very much in mind we say a huge well done to the entire cast and crew of Popstars who performed with great feeling and enthusiasm during their two night run. An incredible amount of time and effort was clearly put into the musical and it came across in a very professional way out on the hallowed boards of the College. Every single actor played their part with the seriousness the roles deserved, genuinely transporting the audience back to the nineties, and the cut-throat world of the early talent shows. The backstage crew, marshalled by Ms. Niamh Hession, were excellent, with the scene transitions practically flawless. The stage itself, designed by Mr. Patrick Devalley, was colourful and evoked a real nineties feel.The production and direction of Mrs.Ruth Revill, Ms. Hannah Rhattigan and Ms. Kate McCarthy was excellent, and we look forward to seeing what they come up with next! Take a well deserved bow everyone!
