And so, the summer's gone. Beautiful warm sunny weather replaced by the usual misery of damp September rain clouds! However, it is a new beginning, the chance to make new friends, to try new things, and above all the opportunity to learn. We look forward to greeting our new first years, our new exchange students and look back with fond memories of our class of 2026 who are now beginning to find their own feet in their new colleges. Roll on!
Our first yer students enjoyed a day of team building at Astro Bay recently, enjoying each other's company and getting to know each other as tthey begin their secondary school journey. Celebrating Mercy Day 2026
Our
CMM Galway school community came together to celebrate Mercy Day, honouring the incredible heritage and spirit of our founders.
Throughout the day, students engaged in meaningful learning experiences centered on the life and vision of Catherine McAuley, exploring how her pioneering mission of compassion continues to inspire us today.
Highlights of the celebration included:
•Father Martin delivered a touching and inspiring sermon reflecting the core values of the Mercy tradition.
•Students showcased their talents by creating stunning artwork inspired by the themes of mercy, community, and service.
It was a wonderful day of reflection, creativity, and shared community spirit as we renewed our commitment to carrying the Mercy legacy forward.
