A very busy start to the year saw our students take part in a host of different extra curricular events over the month of September.
During the first week our Leaving Certificate class went on a day retreat to Mameen and Gurteen Bay. The good company and great weather greatly helped them to ease into what
will be a tough year of hard work, and was received happily by all. More Photos.


On September 17th Students participated in the annual See Change Green Ribbon Campaign, distributing ribbons to raise awareness about mental health issues and combat stigma associated with them.



Our TYs had their first outing of the year with a trip out to Inis Mór. Again, the weather was glorious and great fun had by all as they explored the island. More Photos



Aided by the Home Economics Department our Well being team introduced our students to some healthy eating habits, and lots of tasty snacks during Healthy Eating Week. Photographs



Our TY class 4B attended the Galway Climate Inspirations Festival in An Taibhdhearc. Well done to all who participated and engaged so enthusiastically with a special shout to those who took to the stage to display their acting skills. Congratulations to Seva Ivanovs and John Garvey who won prizes .

Third Year student Jonathan Echefu represented the FAI Ireland U-15 team at a prestigious tournament in Croatia. Meanwhile, fellow third years Ruth Dossen and Michael Mullaney represented Ireland at the European Boxing championships in August, where Ruth captured the European title and Michael lost on a split decision to the eventual winner, and again in a tournament in September. We recognised their significant achievements with their peers at assembly
Our TY group are getting the miles in! At the end of September they headed off to Delphi for two full days of outdoor activities...so fun we're told!

During September our Juvenile Gaelic Footballers, both male and female had outings. The boys overcame Colaiste na hEachraidh Athenry, while the girls didn't win this time but keep getting better. Our basketballers are also training hard and our U16s and U19s both had matches. Meanwhile , eight groups of students applied to Exhibit at the 2025 BTYSTE. They will find out who was successful at the end of October.
