Understanding the need to be charitable towards others is a very important learning goal for all our students. This is never more evident than around Christmas, and we have organised and run a number of special events in order to raise much needed funds for some deserving charities this year.
Firstly, at the start of December, Roinn na Gaeilge ran a very successful Christmas market to raise some money for Galway Hospice. This was a huge success, and brought an early air of Christmas to the College.
Two days later Collette and the canteen crew raised €600 when they organised Christmas dinners in aid of Claddagh Watch Galway. Again, a hugely successful event, with plenty of full bellies to boot!
Our LCVP class and teachers then ran a very successful Christmas Jumper Day, raising over €200 for Children's Health Ireland
Meanwhile, our St. Vincent De Paul Christmas Collection was ongoing for over a week, and when the collecting van left today it was full to the brim!
The participation and generosity of our teachers, students and parents is fantastic. They say it is better to give than to receive!
