CMM's 1st year girls made their schools' debut last week against league topping Colaiste na Coirbe. It was a tough first game with the girls eventually losing out after a great battle. However, they are quick learners! Today they went out on their home court against Presentation College Headford and came away with the win! Well done girls, and coaches
Huge congrats to CMM's 2nd year girls who picked themselves up from a loss against Headford earlier in the week, went out against local rivals Merlin College today and dominated the game from the tip off. The last time these two teams met, we suffered a crushing loss, so the girls had a point to prove. By the end of the first quarter, CMM were leading 12-0. All the hard work and training these girls have put in since this time last year kicked in and the score finished 30-10 to CMMG. What a way to record their first win!
February 2024
CMM's greatly improved, hardworking, 2nd year Basketball team, took on Colaiste na Coiribe last week. The opposition are top of the league, having beaten the other schools. CMM showed how much they have improved since last year and gave the opposition a decent game. The girls came away without a win, but were happy with their performance. Huge improvements can be seen in this team in the last 12 months. The extra training, and dedication shown by the girls, is shining through. The girls now have a busy week ahead of them. They take on both Headford and Merlin in the coming days in a fight to make their first Semi Final. Thanks to Ms Kelly, Ms McClean, Mr McCaul and Paul Langan for putting in time with this team.
October 20th
Our U19 basketball girls had a super win against Merlin College . There was a nail biting finish, when, despite having led throughout the whole game, CMMG girls found themselves down by 2 with a minute to go. Chelsea scored a free throw, leaving us trailing by 1 point with 40 seconds left. Then Angel got a steal and scored a basket in the last few seconds meaning we won by a single point.
Hard luck to our U16s who faught hard and played really well but succumbed to a stronger Merlin College team on the day
